The schedule for the month of June, 2019, was 1 Monthly F.C. EmComm Meeting, 4 Monday Night Nets, 2 Message Handling Practices, 2 Digital Practices, 1 EmComm & Coffee, and 1 Public Service Events.
ARES Traffic/Digital Practice
Fresno ARES/RACES is conducting an on-the-air Traffic Handling practice twice a month alternating with FLDIGI after our regular Monday night EmComm Nets. Brian has been sending a message using the ARRL Message Form. After the practice the copied message was emailed to Brian to check accuracy and log your time on ARES Connect.
On the digital side we have a short net using Fldigi with Psk-31. This lets us iron out any problems we are having and allowing us practice using macro setting. We will soon be applying Flmsg into the mix; this will allow us to send message forms preparing us to better serve our served agencies.
If you are interested in taking part with the digital modes and would like assistance getting started you may go to our website and read the slide presentation provided by Brian (K6OGR) in the training section. If you need more help, you may contact Brian (K6OGR) at firstname.lastname@example.org, Richard (KE6SHL) at Richard_pac@prodigy.net or myself at N6HEW2@gmail.com.
The practice will continue after the nets so join us and have some fun.
What is Flmsg?
FLMSG is a simple forms management editor for the amateur radio supported standard message formats. Form data can be transferred between computers either using standard internet email or via radio frequency broadcasts typically made by an amateur radio operator on your behalf. flmsg forms can be very complex and include embedded images and other controls that make data entry less prone to error. The template information is not transferred between computers, only the volatile information contained in the form entry controls. The form template must reside on each flmsg computer that will be used to create, edit, or review the data.
For more information you can use the following link and read more on their website.http://www.w1hkj.com/flmsg-help/
We are now posting events and meetings on the calendar as well as posting articles on the home page. There is a lot of new information and links added to the site as well thanks to our Webmaster Brian (K6OGR). Check us out at fcemcomm.org

EmComm meeting place: Hinds Hospice Building at 2490 W. Shaw Ave. Fresno. The time is 19:00 hr. please arrive a little early for we have to be escorted in for this is a secured building.
Moonlight Madness is a 4 wheel drive event held in the Sierras. This is one of the largest events of its kind in the state. It will be held July 19 to 21. We have been asked to have people monitor the Madera Deadwood repeater 147.18 PL 146.2. We will monitor for 30 minutes every third hour, starting at 12:00 hr on July 19, the last shift of the day will start at 24:00 hr. We are going to make phone calls for those that have either broke something or forgot something so that they can have what they need brought up by friends or family.
I will be setting up a schedule around the second week of July. This will be an easy gig, just sit in your shack and make a phone call if needed.
Net Control Staff Needed
We are looking for volunteers to take a turn as net control on Monday nights. This is not a difficult task. We will provide the preamble and net roster. This is a great way to enhance your skills running a net for emergency situations. If you are interested, please contact Gary (KI6OYW) at 559-269-1340 or email email@example.com
Don’t forget the Monday Night EmComm Net at 19:30 hr. on the 147.15 MHz Pl 141.3. We have some good information and camaraderie. On the third Friday of the month there is the EmComm & Coffee located at Denny’s, 39 W. Herndon Ave (North East corner of Blackstone and Herndon) 07:00hr. And last but not least the EmComm Meetings are held on the Fourth Thursday of month. Our next meeting will be June 27, 2019 at 1900 hr. at the Hinds Hospice Building, 2490 W. Shaw Fresno.
