This is the basic list of items you should have on hand. A “ONE DAY” or rapid response kit for an emergency or even a training exercise.

EAR PHONE/Headset or speaker-mic
EXTRA BATTERIES, ALTERNATIVE POWER AND ADAPTORS
PAPER AND PENCIL (Clipboard/Binder)
ARES ID CARD and other Credentials, copy of your license
APPROPRIATE CLOTHING
FOOD AND WATER (energy snacks)
PERSONAL ITEMS, including medicines, glasses, first aid & etc
“FIELD RESOURCES MANUAL” (AT LEAST MESSAGE FORMS)

The majority of these items should be kept in a “GO BAG ” close to the door. Just pick it up on
your way out the door for deployment.

ARES THREE DAY “GO BAG”
THE OBJECT OF THE THREE DAY “GO BAG” IS TO HAVE WHAT YOU MAY POSSIBLY NEED DURING A CALLOUT. CHANCES ARE VERY HIGH THAT NOTHING WILL BE AVAILABLE TO US AT THE LOCATION OF DISASTER.
SNACKS, HIGH ENERGY HIGH FIBER
THROAT LOZENGES, LIP BALM, EYE DROPS, AND etc. FOR COMFORT
FIRST AID KIT — AN EXTENSIVE FIRST AID KIT IS DESIRABLE, ASPIRIN, OINTMENTS,
SALVES, SUN BLOCK, FIRST AID TAPE, SPLINT, BANDAGES, PRESCRIPTION
DRUGS, AND over the counter drugs (antacids, anti-diarrheal etc.)
Make sure to include FILTER MASKS and HAND SANITIZERS
LOG BOOK, PAPER, AND A FEW PENS AND PENCILS
3 DAY CHANGE OF CLOTHES
3 DAY SUPPLY OF FOOD AND WATER, MIN. OF 1.5 GAL./DAY, MRE’S IF YOU CAN
STOMACH THEM, LIQUID REFRESHMENTS
FLASHLIGHT WITH EXTRA BATTERIES, light sticks
