EC Report for June 2016
Hi All,
The schedule for the month of June: 4 Monday Night EmComm Nets, 1 EmComm meeting, 1 EmComm and Coffee, 1 RACES Exercise, and Field Day at the Citadel.

RACES Exercise

The County Of Fresno asked us to participate in an RACES Exercise before the end of the physical year, June 31. We had a limited exercise on June 15, 2016. We had five RACES personnel take part. They were as follows: Glen Blomgeren (AF6CY), Karl Kramer (W6TUI), Dan Pruitt (AE6SX), Gary Greenberg (KI6OYW), and myself, Glen Caine (N6HEW). We had people in Selma, the Blood Bank, Clovis Police and Fire facility, County OES and the Fresno County ECV (Emergency Communication Vehicle) located at the Squaw Valley Library. We passed traffic and practiced simplex operation. The exercise lasted about an hour and a half. Thanks to all who took part. We will be planning a more extensive exercise for later this year.

SATERN Field Day
Again this year we held Field Day at The Salvation Army Citadel in Fresno using the SATERN Station. We operated from 11:00hr Saturday June 25 through 09:00hr Sunday June 26. We cut the operation short about two hours because the bands weren’t that good and all we were getting were duplications. We did make over 400 contacts and that was a better showing than last year. We can now start making plans for next year.
Fresno County EmComm Website
We are now posting events and meetings on the calendar as well as posting articles on the home page. Check us out at fcemcomm.org.
Net Control Staff Needed
We are looking for volunteers to take a turn as net control on Monday nights. This is not a difficult task. We will provide the preamble and net roster. This is a great way to enhance your skills running a net for emergency situations. If you are interested, please contact Gary (KI6OYW) at 559-269-1340 or email g_greenberg@att.net
Our Calender
Don’t forget the Monday Night EmComm Net at 19:30 hr. on the 147.15 MHz Pl 141.3. We have some good information and camaraderie. On the third Friday of the month there is the EmComm Coffee at YFC on Cedar south of Ashlan in Granite Park at 07:00hr. And last but not least the EmComm Meetings are held on the Fourth Thursday of month. The next meeting will be held July 28 at 1900 hr. at the Salvation Army Citadel at 1854 Fulton St., Fresno.
